About me

Name: Pedro Henrique Leão
Born: September 10
Hometown: Santa Maria – RS, Brazil
Height: 5′ 11½”
Weight: 220 pounds

Since childhood I have always been in love by martial arts but never had the chance to practice.

In 2007 after watching the videos of the first UFC and see that skinny guy named Royce Gracie make all those guys tap out, I visited the Jiu-Jitsu academy of my current city (Brazuka Jiu-Jitsu Team) who at the time was led by the then brown belt Thiago Ribeiro. After some time and a long break of almost two years due to injury and work, he promoted me to blue belt in December 2011.

In February 2012 I had to move to another city because of college (Computer Science) and in September of the same year I was welcomed by Professor Christian Bertoia of the Gracie Barra Santa Maria Academy, where I currently train. Six months later, I was unable to pay for classes so I told my professor I would teach university students in order to don’t stop my training. Immediately he said that I wouldn’t need to pay the fees, so I started monday and wednesday to teach my new students and tuesday, thursday and friday I trained under his tutelage.

I made this blog to share experiences and learnings, exposing opinions, and especially making friends. If you want to contact me for comment, suggestions or criticisms, send an email to: jiujitsunoboken@gmail.com .
